After completing this webinar, participants will be able to understand:
The information provided in the audit report needs to inform your audit client and sometimes persuade them of your recommendations. The key to writing a focused report is knowing your readers and how they plan to use the report. And because the report is usually read by various people at various levels of the organization, the report must be structured to the understanding of all the readers. There are also certain requirements by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) that must be included in every audit report.
This webinar will provide the basic principles for writing focused audit reports. The audit report represents the result of weeks of reviews, analyses, interviews, and discussions. It is used to provide important information to management on the area you reviewed. And, more importantly, it provides details to the organization on whether the management controls in place are working as intended. How well your report communicates that information is critical to getting management’s acceptance of your findings and their agreement with your recommendations. And ultimately, this demonstrates the value you add to the organization and enhances your chances for future promotions and greater salary increases.
